Concern raised over HR abuses by Indian troops in IOK

Srinagar, May 05, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Political League (JKMPL) has expressed serious concern over the grave human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

The JKMPL Chairman, Farooq Ahmed Tawheedi, addressing a meeting in Srinagar strongly condemned the killing of innocent people, conducting of siege and search operations, illegal detention of hundreds of youth and other atrocities by Indian forces’ personnel in the occupied territory.

He said that India was hatching conspiracies to change the demographic composition of occupied Kashmir. He called upon the world human rights organizations including the Amnesty International and Asia Watch to impress upon New Delhi to stop human rights abuses in the territory.

Farooq Tawheedi also appealed to the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon to fulfill his responsibilities regarding peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Insaf Party, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, in a statement deplored that inauguration of an Apple Clinic by the German Ambassador in Shopian where the wailing echo of Aasiya and Neelofer still haunt the human conscience was nothing but prioritizing petty interests over human blood and honour in Kashmir. He said that Germany should play its role in the settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.
