Congress Leader Claims RSS-Affiliated Officer, Not Kasab, Killed Hemant Karkare

New Delhi, In a controversial claim, Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has alleged that Hemant Karkare, the chief of Mumbai’s Anti-Terrorist Squad during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, was not killed by terrorist Ajmal Kasab but by a police officer associated with the RSS. This assertion challenges the official narrative of the events that occurred during one of India’s most tragic terrorist incidents.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Wadettiwar cited a book by retired police officer SM Mushrif as evidence for his claim, stating that Karkare’s death was the result of a conspiracy rather than the act of Kasab. He also accused public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, who served as the government’s lawyer in the 26/11 case and is now a BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha election, of concealing this information.

“During 26/11, Hemant Karkare was not shot by Kasab. A police officer shot him on the instructions of RSS. Public Prosecutor Adv. Ujjwal Nikam knew this yet chose to hide this fact, Wadettiwar stated, sparking potential controversy over the legal handling of the 26/11 case.

Wadettiwar’s comments reflect deep-seated political tensions and raise questions about the integrity of individuals involved in the investigation and prosecution of the 26/11 attacks. The Congress leader also criticized the current political climate, lamenting the lack of morality and accusing contemporary politicians of prioritizing power over national interest.
