Courts Issued Sentences in May 9 Cases According to Law: Tarar

Islamabad: The National Assembly commenced its session at the Parliament House with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq presiding over the proceedings. The session began with the House conducting a Fateha for the late Member National Assembly Mian Muhammad Azhar, who passed away last month, as well as for other individuals, including security personnel, who lost their lives in various incidents.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar addressed concerns raised by the Opposition benches by stating that the courts have delivered sentences in relation to the May 9 riots in accordance with the law. Tarar suggested that the opposition should contest these verdicts in the courts rather than expressing discontent in the Parliament.

Tarar further elaborated that the disrespect shown to martyrs’ memorials on May 9 was part of a deliberate conspiracy and emphasized that those responsible for the chaos will face consequences. In his tribute to the late MNA Mian Muhammad Azhar, the Minister acknowledged the significant loss to the House and the void left in Pakistan’s political landscape due to his passing.
