DPM Chairs Meeting in Islamabad Regarding Gwadar Shipyard

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting on land allocation for the Gwadar Shipyard in Islamabad on Monday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry of Defence Production presented relevant statistics, potential revenue streams, and various land options available for the project of Gwadar Shipyard. The meeting aimed to evaluate these options to ensure the strategic and economic viability of the shipyard.

The Deputy Prime Minister directed a third-party professional evaluation of potential sites to ensure transparency and effectiveness in the decision-making process. He emphasized the importance of proceeding with local consensus, reassuring local representatives that their input and agreement would be integral to the development of the shipyard. The initiative is expected to play a critical role in the region’s economic development and strategic maritime capabilities.
