Sukma: A head constable of the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) took his own life in the Gadiras area of Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, marking a continued pattern of distress within the ranks.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the constable, identified as 44-year-old Vipul Bhuyan of the 226th battalion, fatally shot himself with his service weapon inside the camp’s bathroom on Saturday. This incident is part of a troubling trend in the state, as it represents the fifth suicide by paramilitary personnel in Chhattisgarh over the last three months. The area has a significant deployment of Indian army and paramilitary forces engaged in operations against Naxalite and Maoist groups, who have been agitating for an independent state.
