Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed has called for creating religious harmony in the society, saying that each and every segment of the society should rise against the elements working on external agenda to defame the country.
Talking to the media in Karachi on Friday, he condemned the Jaranwala incident and said that no true Muslim and Pakistani could involve himself in such incidents which are against the teachings of Islam.
He made it clear that culprits involved in the Jaranwala tragedy will be brought to justice and law will take its course if such incidents are repeated.
He said that besides the state it is the responsibility of the citizens of the country to protect all the non-Muslims in the country.
Aneeq Ahmad questioned the timing of the Jaranwala incident as it took place at a time when India was under severe criticism of the world following the Manipur incidents where churches were aroused.
He said the Jaranwala incident was carried out by such subversive elements who wanted to divert the world’s attention from what happened in Manipur, India.
