Cultural events in Seoul highlighting Pakistani culture and food

Islamabad: A number of cultural events are being organized by the Embassy of Pakistan, with the support of local associations, as part of projecting Pakistan’s rich culture and heritage.

A press release received from Seoul, says that a cultural event was held here in Seoul on 24th May, 2011. It was organized by the Seoul Global Centre with the assistance and support of the Embassy of Pakistan, Seoul. It was widely participated by the citizens here as well as Pakistanis and officers and staff of the Embassy. This event was held in the Mugyodeong area of central Seoul. A group of students from the Seoul National University put up a mesmerizing show, singing some traditional Pakistani songs and also performed some dances. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the locals present there. In addition, traditional Pakistani food was also on display, and tried and appreciated by the locals present there.

This is amongst the many cultural events that are being held by the Embassy of Pakistan, Seoul. The basic aim of these shows is to present the Pakistani culture in its truest vibrant manner.

Another big cultural event was held on the 18th of April, 2011 at the National Library of Children and Adults (NLCY) in Seoul, South Korea. It was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan with the help of the National Library of Children and Adults. The event was attended by nearly 300 people – adults, children, media, some local Pakistanis etc.

The Ambassador of Pakistan, Mr. Shaukat Ali Mukadam gave a presentation on Pakistan, highlighting its diverse culture and traditions. This was followed by a widely appreciated cultural show. A group of students from Seoul National University performed traditional songs and dances. A Pakistani worker also sang some traditional and folk songs. A young student from the Korea Kent School also sang two songs. This was followed by a video movie on Pakistan showing life in Pakistan, its culture, tradition etc. Food stalls were also set-up displaying traditional Pakistani food. This was also enjoyed and appreciated by the people present there. Towards the end, the Ambassador of Pakistan, His Excellency, Mr. Shaukat Ali Mukadam, distributed certificates to the participants and the administration of the NLCY.
