Dacoits fleeing after ransacking house nabbed red-handed

Islamabad: Rural Circle Police Islamabad has nabbed two dacoits from Sihala police station area when they were fleeing after looting away gold ornaments, cash, mobile from a house in Sihala, a police spokesman said here Wednesday.

According to details, gun-totting robbers stormed in the house of Zahoor Ahmed in wee hours and made house inmates hostage at gun point.

They snatched cash, mobile phones, gold ornaments worth Rs. 2,48,300 and tried to flee. The house inmates offered resistance over which they opened fire and tried to flee. Police team headed by Sub-Inspector Anar reached there and chased the fleeing dacoits.

After a brief chase, they managed to overpower two of the fleeing persons who were identified as Aamir Razaq and Liaqat while one of their accomplices managed to escape. Police also recovered two 30 bore pistols and 14 rounds from them while SP (Rural) Faisal Bashir Memon has constituted a special team to arrest the absconding criminal.

Meanwhile, ASI Akhtar Khan from Sihala police also apprehended Feeroz Khan and Waqar in possession of 30 bore pistol each. ASI Muhammad Saeed from Koral police arrested Shehzad Akhtar and recovered 30 bore pistol and five rounds from his possession.

SHO Koral police station Inspector Sajjad Hussain Bukhari, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Akram arrested Shehzad Hussain and Riasat during raid at a weapon shop in Ganagal being run illegally and recovered four pistols, three 12 bore guns, carbine, 12 bore, 32 bore revolver, nine various magazines from there.

Police have registered cases under sections AO 13, 20/65 and further investigation is underway from the nabbed persons.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to intensify patrolling in their respective areas and ensure crackdown against anti-social elements.
