Dar Orders Intensified Efforts for Release of Pakistani Hostages

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has directed intensified efforts for the safe and early release of ten Pakistani hostages hijacked by pirates off the Somali coast. He chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review the situation and strategize on the necessary actions.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar instructed all relevant stakeholders to maintain close and regular coordination and intensify diplomatic engagement with national and international partners. This includes collaboration with Somali authorities and relevant international organizations to facilitate the safe release of the Pakistani citizens.

Dar expressed solidarity with the families of the hostages, affirming that the Government of Pakistan is fully seized of the situation. He conveyed hope that sustained and coordinated engagement will lead to a positive outcome and the safe return of the Pakistani citizens to their families.

The hostages were aboard MT Honour 25, which was hijacked by pirates, prompting this urgent response from the Pakistani government.
