Death Anniversary of Poet Nasir Kazmi Today

Lahore: The 53rd death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Nasir Kazmi is being observed today (Sunday). Born on 8th December 1925 in Ambala, British India, Kazmi settled in Lahore following the creation of Pakistan and served as editor of various Urdu newspapers.

According to Radio Pakistan, Kazmi was also associated with Radio Pakistan and other literary organizations throughout his career. His first poetic collection, “Barg-e-Nai,” is considered a significant contribution to Urdu literature. Nasir Kazmi passed away in Lahore on this day in 1972.
