Death Anniversary of Renowned Folk Singer Allan Faqir Observed

Jamshoro: The 25th death anniversary of renowned folk singer Allan Faqir was observed on Friday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Allan Faqir was born in 1932 in the village of Aamari in the Jamshoro District of Sindh. His unique singing style and deep connection to the poetry of the prominent Sufi Sindhi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, made him a celebrated figure in the world of folk music.

In recognition of his significant contributions to music, Allan Faqir was honored with the President’s Pride of Performance Award in 1980. His legacy continues to inspire many in the realm of folk music and Sufi poetry.

Allan Faqir passed away on this day in 2000 and was laid to rest near Sindh University Jamshoro, leaving behind a rich heritage of soulful music.
