Islamabad, December 05, 2012 (PPI-OT): A 10 Member delegation of Peshawar District Bar Association headed by President, Mr. Wakeel Zaman Khattak, and comprising other executive members called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary today i.e. 05-12-2012 in Supreme Court Building, Islamabad.
Welcoming the delegation the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the Bar is an integral part of the judicial Administration and the legal fraternity played a vital role for rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution in the country. His lordship also commended the role played by Peshawar Bar for the Constitutionalism, rule of law and supremacy of constitution.
The delegation praised the efforts of the Hon’ble Chief Justice for the cause of independence of judiciary, Rule of Law and Constitutionalism. They further told that the trust of public at large in judiciary has enhanced due to which the ratio of litigation has also increased.
The Hon’ble Chief Justice also appreciated efforts of legal fraternity for the cause of dispensation of justice. The delegation praised his lordship’s steadfastness, devotion, commitment, determination and efforts for the cause of justice and assured his lordship of their full support and cooperation.
The delegation informed his lordship that the movement of rule of law, supremacy of Constitution and independence of judiciary instilled a new spirit and provided a common platform to lawyers to cooperate with one another.
The delegation presented the souvenir to Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan as token of respect and gesture of goodwill. They also invited his lordship to visit Peshawar Bar. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan conveyed his gratitude, extended his thanks and assured to visit them in suitable time.
