Denmark Eyes Investment Opportunities in Pakistan’s Mining Sector

Islamabad: Denmark has shown a keen interest in investing in Pakistan’s burgeoning mining industry, a move that could enhance bilateral economic ties and bolster Pakistan’s mineral sector.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the interest was communicated during a meeting in Islamabad today between a Danish Business Group, led by the Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, Jakob Linulf, and several Federal Ministers. The discussions highlighted the potential for substantial investments given Pakistan’s rich mineral reserves.

Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik welcomed foreign investment in the sector, while Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb promised to provide all necessary facilitations for Danish investments. Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan described the Danish interest as encouraging and beneficial for Pakistan’s economic growth, noting the government’s eagerness to foster business activities through private sector collaboration.

Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan emphasized that cooperation with Denmark in the mining sector would strengthen Pakistan’s economy, highlighting Denmark’s status as a significant business partner. Mikko Keto, CEO of FL Smidth, affirmed their commitment to advancing actionable and profitable projects within the industry, signaling a robust future for Danish-Pakistani business relations in mining.
