Fresh Mudslides Shut Down Srinagar-Leh Highway in Ganderbal

Srinagar: A new series of mudslides, induced by rainfall, has led to the closure of the Srinagar-Leh highway on Monday. The mudslides struck the Kullan Gund area of Ganderbal district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, disrupting traffic and prompting immediate road closure.

According to Kashmir Media Service, officials reported that the highway was closed following the mudslides that occurred today, completely obstructing the route. Efforts to reopen the highway are in progress, with teams working to remove the debris using heavy machinery.

In addition to the Srinagar-Leh highway, the SSG road near Shah Mohalla Kullan has also been affected and is currently blocked. Traffic has been diverted to an alternative link road to accommodate travelers affected by the closures.
