Jammu: Surinder Kumar Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government’s decision to downgrade the region from a state to a Union Territory has been a deception to its people, claiming the move fails to reflect the local populace’s desires.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Surinder Kumar, addressing reporters in Jammu, articulated his and the National Conference’s disapproval of the reclassification, arguing it was contrary to both the expectations and aspirations of the inhabitants. He emphasized that such actions betrayed the trust of the people of IIOJK, a sentiment broadly held among his supporters.
Kumar also conveyed a resolute belief that the original statehood status of Jammu and Kashmir would soon be reinstated, reflecting a strong desire for administrative and political normalcy in the area.
