Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar announced that Qatar has committed to investing three billion dollars in Pakistan’s economy. This investment pledge came during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the commitment from Qatar aims to boost trade, investment, cultural exchanges, and economic cooperation between the two nations. The Minister highlighted that this financial injection is expected to significantly bolster the economic stability of Pakistan.
During the Prime Minister’s visit, a cultural exhibition showcasing Pakistani art and architecture took place in Doha, marking a milestone in cultural diplomacy between Pakistan and Qatar. Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his steadfast support and cooperation.
The Minister also touched upon the outcomes of the Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia, where he met with Saudi leadership, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The discussions led to an increase in Saudi investments in Pakistan by 600 million dollars, bringing the total to 2.8 billion dollars. These engagements underscore the deepening fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In a broader regional context, Prime Minister Sharif also voiced his condemnation of the ongoing Israeli actions against Palestinians, reaffirming Pakistan’s stance on the issue.
