Deputy PM Chairs Meeting on Power Tariff Reforms in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar led a meeting focused on potential reforms in the power sector, discussing various proposals aimed at overhauling power tariffs.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting took place in Islamabad and was attended by key government officials. These included Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, and Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervaiz Malik.

The gathering also saw the participation of Muhammad Ali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Power, along with other senior officials. The meeting focused on evaluating the current challenges and exploring feasible solutions to improve the power sector’s efficiency.

The proposals discussed in the meeting are part of a broader initiative to reform the power sector, a critical component of the country’s infrastructure and economic development.
