Power Division Mandates Service Agreements with Industries for Enhanced Electricity Supply

Islamabad: The Power Division has issued a directive to electricity distribution companies to establish service level agreements with industries possessing captive power generation. The initiative aims to bolster reliance on distribution companies’ transmission systems and promises stable and reliable electricity to cater to industrial needs.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the agreements will span two years and include mechanisms for resolving technical faults and disputes. Distribution companies are urged to meet legal requirements promptly. Penalties are outlined for non-compliance, ensuring that the agreements do not override existing laws and codes.

This move involves key players such as Karachi Electric and emphasizes enhancing the electricity supply framework for industrial sectors. The directive is part of broader efforts to improve service delivery and infrastructure reliability within the country’s power sector.
