Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is set to depart for Iran on Monday to participate in the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization. The meeting will focus on regional connectivity, security, and energy initiatives.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his address, Dar will emphasize Pakistan’s dedication to the ECO charter, stressing the importance of enhanced connectivity in the region. He will advocate for the development of rail and road networks, the easing of visa restrictions, and the simplification of border procedures to bolster regional ties.
Dar is also expected to voice Pakistan’s concerns over the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, which pose risks to regional peace and security. Furthermore, he will sign the Charter for the ECO Clean Energy Center, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister plans to engage in discussions with attending ministers and other dignitaries. These meetings aim to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relationships and explore opportunities for collaboration among ECO member states.
