Delhi: Detection Technology, a prominent global provider of X-ray detector solutions, inaugurated a new service and production facility in Greater Delhi, marking a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Finland to India, Mr. Kimmo Lähdevirta, and various company representatives.
The new facility reinforces Detection Technology’s presence in the rapidly growing Indian market. This strategic move aims to offer closer customer service, reduced lead times, and cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
Hannu Martola, President and CEO of Detection Technology, expressed optimism about the venture. “We see significant long-term potential in India, and this new facility enables us to support customers on the ground with the same dedication that guides our global operations,” he stated.
India’s infrastructure development, particularly in healthcare and transportation, presents opportunities for the company’s X-ray technologies. Detection Technology’s modular detector components will now carry the “Made in India” label, marking an important milestone for the company.
Arve Lukander, President of EMEIA and Americas Business Units, announced that shipments of Indian-made products will commence immediately. During the initial phase, the facility will focus on assembling and testing high-quality detector boards for security X-ray imaging, with plans to soon expand production to include TFT flat panel detectors.
Lukander emphasized the site’s advanced capabilities, highlighting investments in equipment and skilled personnel. The facility will also conduct product demonstrations to assist customers in selecting suitable detectors for their needs.
Located in Cyberwalk Tech Park, the new site benefits from excellent connectivity within India and internationally. The operations in India are managed by DT Detection Technology India Private Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Detection Technology.
