Islamabad, June 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was unmatchable political leader in the annals of Politics. He said that she was the torch bearer of the rights of farmers, laborers and downtrodden classes as she sacrificed her life for the cause of democracy. He expressed these views while addressing the ceremony held on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir in the Women Parliamentary Caucus Parliament House Islamabad.
Speaker National Assembly said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the restoration of democracy in the country and she fought against dictatorship till her last breath. He said that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had the honor of becoming the first woman Prime Minister of any Islamic country. He also expressed his pride that he was trained by this great leader. He also appreciated the contribution of women members of the assembly who are playing the most dynamic role in the parliament. He expected his resolve that mission of Benazir Bhuttoo can be moved forward by collective efforts.
Secretary of Women’s Parliamentary Caucus Dr. Shahida Rahmani also said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto is still inspiring millions in Pakistan as she endured imprisonment for the restoration of democracy. She also said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto is a role model for Pakistani women. A large number of Members of the National Assembly were also present on this occasion.
