Islamabad:Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Waseem has directed the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to effectively utilize all available resources to ensure peace and security in the federal capital.
According to Radio Pakistan, the directive was issued during DIG Waseem’s visit to the CTD Headquarters in Islamabad, where he was briefed on the department’s performance, counter-terrorism measures, intelligence-based operations, ongoing investigations, and the prevailing security situation.
The DIG reviewed ongoing operations against terrorist elements and instructed officers to further strengthen operational and investigative efforts by using modern technology to enhance the effectiveness of counter-terrorism measures. He stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and developing a comprehensive strategy among all relevant departments and law enforcement agencies for effective action against terrorism.
Later, a Zoom meeting was chaired by DIG Islamabad Ali Waseem with officers of the Islamabad Counter-Terrorism Department and relevant officers from other provinces. The meeting reviewed the CTD’s performance, counter-terrorism measures, the security situation, intelligence-based operations, and matters relating to inter-provincial coordination.
