DPM Chairs Meeting on Privatization of DISCOs

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee overseeing the privatization of DISCOs in Islamabad today. During the meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasized that while privatization aims to improve efficiency, service delivery, and financial sustainability, a strong regulatory framework and effective oversight will remain essential to protect consumers’ interests, ensure transparency, and uphold accountability.

According to Radio Pakistan, the committee expressed satisfaction and advised the Privatization Commission to complete the process within agreed timelines.
