DPM Ishaq Dar and Iranian FM Seyyed Abbas Araghchi Discuss Regional Situation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation today with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the evolving regional situation.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on the current developments within the region. Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of de-escalation and restraint, as outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June 2026. He highlighted that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable paths to resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to continue playing a constructive role in promoting and maintaining regional peace and stability. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact to further these efforts and ensure open lines of communication.
