DPM Orders Relief Measures for Industrial Electricity Consumers

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has directed relevant departments to begin the process of providing relief to industrial electricity consumers. This directive was issued during a meeting in Islamabad on Friday, focused on reviewing electricity tariffs for the industrial sector.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Senator Dar chaired the second meeting on this issue, where he evaluated proposals from the Ministries of Finance, Information Technology, and Power. The aim of these proposals is to alleviate the financial burden on industries resulting from current electricity tariffs.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s directive emphasizes the government’s commitment to supporting industrial growth by addressing energy costs, which are a significant concern for the sector.
