Moulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri Elected Chairman of Housing and Works Committee

Islamabad: The Standing Committee on Housing and Works has unanimously elected Moulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri as its Chairman during a meeting held at the Parliament House in Islamabad. The decision was reached with full consensus among the members present.

According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, the election process was initiated by Mr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Adviser (Legislation), who briefed the committee members on the procedure. The nomination of Moulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was proposed by Mr. Anwar ul Haq Chaudhary and seconded by Mr. Zubair Khan Wazir, leading to Haideri’s unanimous election as Chairman.

The Adviser (Legislation) and Joint Secretary (Committees) extended their congratulations to the newly elected Chairman on behalf of the National Assembly’s leadership, including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Secretary General. They assured him of full support from the Secretariat to ensure the committee’s effective functioning.

In his acceptance speech, Chairman Haideri expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the members and committed to leading the committee with a focus on consensus. The committee members, in turn, assured him of their complete support in legislative activities. Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, MNA and Chief Whip of the ruling party, also congratulated Haideri and pledged support for the committee’s endeavors.

The meeting was attended by several members of the National Assembly, both in person and virtually, as well as senior officers from the National Assembly Secretariat.
