DPM Reviews Current Status of Different Austerity Measures

Islamabad: A meeting of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures was held in Islamabad today with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair. Ishaq Dar reviewed the current status of different austerity measures as announced by the Government earlier.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that due to the high international fuel prices, it is a national duty for everyone, including the Government, to adhere to the conservation and austerity measures in letter and spirit. He noted that for tasks of significant and urgent nature affected by these measures, cases could be presented to the Cabinet Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures. This would ensure that essential functions of the Government are not compromised.
