DPM Reviews Implementation of Austerity Measures Amid Middle East Concerns

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has directed all ministries to ensure strict adherence to the austerity framework announced by the government in light of the evolving situation in the Middle East. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review the implementation of austerity measures approved by the Prime Minister last month in consultation with the provinces.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of fiscal discipline amid prevailing economic challenges. He urged all ministries and divisions to demonstrate utmost responsibility and prudence in public expenditure and administrative decision-making.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary briefed the committee on the status of various measures currently under implementation. The committee also reviewed matters raised by different ministries and divisions in relation to these measures.
