DPM Signs Agreement at UN

New york: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar signed the ‘Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement)’ at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The agreement aims to enhance global efforts in conserving marine biodiversity in regions not governed by any national jurisdiction.

According to Radio Pakistan, the signing of this agreement underscores Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to multilateral cooperation. It also highlights the country’s dedication to the protection and sustainable use of marine biodiversity in international waters, aligning with global environmental goals. The BBNJ Agreement is a significant step in fostering international collaboration for the conservation of marine ecosystems.
