DPM supports strike on Manmohan’s IHK visit

Srinagar, June 22, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM) has endorsed the strike call given by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leader, on the Indian Prime Minister,

Manmohan Singh’s visit to the territory on Tuesday. The DFP Chairman, Firdous Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that through strike the people of Kashmir would remind Manmohan Singh that India had forcibly invaded Jammu and Kashmir and had deprived the Kashmiris of their birthright to self-determination for last several decades.

He said, the purpose of the strike is also reminding the Indian Prime Minister that Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru were illegally executed at the Delhi’s Tihar jail and even their mortal remains were not shifted to Kashmir for proper burial.

He said that illegal executions, arrests, house detentions and harassments by Indian troops and police personnel could not prevent the people of Kashmir from continuing their just struggle for securing their right to self-determination. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the liberation struggle till its complete success.
