Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will leave for Amman, Jordan, tonight to attend a Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem tomorrow [Wednesday]. He is paying the visit on the invitation of his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al-Safadi.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting will bring together Foreign Ministers of the Arab League and a group of Islamic countries, including Pakistan, with the aim of formulating a unified position on the fast-deteriorating situation in occupied Jerusalem. The attending Foreign Ministers will also call on King of Jordan Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.
Ishaq Dar will hold sideline bilateral meetings with the participating Foreign Ministers to exchange views on regional developments, including Palestine and other issues of mutual interest. His participation is a manifestation of Pakistan’s principled support for the Palestinian people and its unwavering commitment to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
