Due to 24 hours break in supply from Karachi Electric Supply Company water was not supplied to citizens of Karachi: Karachi Water Sewerage Board

Karachi, June 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): Due to disruption in electric supply from K.E.S.C at Dhabeji Pumping Station – Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s largest pumping station pumping water from sources 200 kilometre away – is facing Grid Station and Sub Station faults, said KW and SB spokesperson.

Due to a 24 hour break in supply from K.E.S.C starting from Sunday morning 11 o’clock 300 MGD water was not supplied to the citizens of Karachi. KW and SB Officials are in constant coordination with KESC officials who ensured that the supply is resumed at the earliest. K.E.S.C staff worked around the clock to ensure that the electric supply to Dhabeji Pumping station is resumed.

KW and SB appreciated KESC efforts with which they resumed supply at 11 am on Monday morning. KW and SB resumed supply from Dhabeji Pumping Station and shortfall would be reduced substantially. KW and SB has been informing the citizens of Karachi through Media during this time.

KW and SB strives to ensure that water is supplied in every corner of the city. Currently we are not facing shortage of water anywhere in the city. Moreover, two KESC feeders at Hub Pumping Station are also working as per capacity now, which would ensure supply from Hub Dam.

KW and SB spokesperson thanked KESC for swiftly resolving the issues. He said that KW and SB and KESC are working with mutual coordination for the betterment of the metropolis.
