KCCI and NAVTTC Forge Partnership to Boost Vocational Training in Karachi

Karachi, The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing demand-driven skills training across various industries in Pakistan.

According to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the agreement was signed by Chairperson NAVTTC Gulmina Bilal Ahmed and President KCCI Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh during a meeting at the KCCI. The event also saw the nomination of Junaid Esmail Makda, Chairman of KCCI’s Special Committee for MoU Implementation, and Azizullah Chandio, DG NAVTTC Sindh, as focal persons to oversee the MOU’s full implementation.

The partnership focuses on adapting training programs to meet the specific needs of industries, modifying curricula as necessary after stakeholder consultations. Chairperson NAVTTC highlighted that the initiative aims to provide substantial employment opportunities and on-the-job training for the youth, thereby enhancing their contribution to industrial productivity and national economic growth.

Gulmina Bilal also noted that NAVTTC supervises over 5,000 vocational training institutions, ensuring that they deliver quality education and training to the youth. President KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, reiterated the chamber’s support for NAVTTC’s efforts and stressed the importance of collaborative initiatives to effectively train young people as per industry requirements.

Additionally, the MoU includes plans for seminars and workshops to familiarize the business community with NAVTTC’s services, further integrating business and vocational training sectors for improved economic outcomes.
