Karachi, Meezan Bank has been certified by Risk Associates as the first bank in Pakistan to meet the PCI 3DS (Payment Card Industry Three Domain Secure) standard. This certification marks a significant step in enhancing secure online transactions and data protection within the country’s banking sector.

According to Meezan Bank Limited, Pakistan’s leading PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), the certification ceremony took place at Meezan House in Karachi. The PCI 3DS Certificate of Compliance was presented to key figures from Meezan Bank, including Mr. Faiz Ur Rehman, Group Head of Information Technology; Syed Fahd Azam, CISO and Head of Information Security; and Syed Iftikhar Ul Haq, Group Head of Consumer Finance.

The certification underscores Meezan Bank’s efforts to maintain a secure banking infrastructure, essential for protecting client transactions against online fraud. The PCI 3DS protocol, mandated by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, adds a layer of security by verifying consumer identities with their card issuer during online purchases.

Aziz A.
