Durable Stability in South Asia Hinges on Peaceful Dispute Resolution: Asim

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, emphasized the critical importance of peaceful dispute resolution for durable stability in South Asia. In his message marking the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, he highlighted this event as a key moment of national strength and strategic clarity for Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity, describing these as sacred and inviolable principles. He paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their courage, professionalism, and exemplary defense of the nation against unprovoked aggression.

He further stated that while Pakistan has always aspired for peace, it cannot be based on denial, violation of international law, or unilateral actions. The envoy strongly asserted that achieving durable stability in South Asia necessitates the peaceful settlement of disputes, including the Jammu and Kashmir issue, in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
