Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved over 24.174 billion rupees for the Ministries of Defence and the Interior. The ECC, which met in Islamabad today, with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in the chair, approved 20 billion rupees in favour of the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control for maintenance of law and order.
According to Radio Pakistan, the forum consented to four billion rupees for the payment of cash compensation to residents of land acquired for the construction of Defence Complex Islamabad. Additionally, the ECC approved another 174.8 million rupees for the Interior Division for law and enforcement efforts by the headquarters Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar.
Besides, the committee approved a draft Statutory Regulatory Order to amend the Business-to-Business Barter Trade Mechanism, governing bilateral trade with Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia.
