ECP Disqualifies Senator Ejaz Chaudhary and Two Lawmakers Following Terrorism Convictions

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has disqualified Senator Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary, Mohammad Ahmed Chattha, and Ahmad Khan from their respective legislative positions. The disqualification follows their convictions in anti-terrorism cases.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Election Commission of Pakistan issued notifications regarding the disqualification after sentences were handed down by the Anti-Terrorism Courts in Sargodha and Lahore. Mohammad Ahmed Chattha, elected from National Assembly Constituency No. NA-66 Wazirabad, and Ahmad Khan, a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from Constituency No. PP-87 Mianwali-lll, were both sentenced by the Anti-Terrorism Court in Sargodha to 10 years of imprisonment.

Similarly, Senator Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment by the Anti-Terrorism Court No. III in Lahore. The convictions and subsequent disqualifications underscore the legal repercussions faced by public officials involved in terrorism-related activities.
