Eight Tribals Killed by Indian Forces in Bijapur

Bijapur: The Indian forces killed eight tribals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district today during a security operation, adding to the ongoing conflict in the region.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the forces’ personnel carried out the killings during a cordon and search operation in the forest area under the jurisdiction of Gangaloor police station.

A senior police official confirmed the incident and noted that the operation is still in progress, with further information yet to emerge.

The region has been a focal point of conflict, as Maoist guerrillas have been engaging in a prolonged struggle for independence from Indian rule.
