Eight Volunteer Workers Perish in Gilgit Landslide Tragedy

Gilgit: Eight volunteer workers have died and three others injured due to a landslide during work to restore the water channel of Danuor Nullah in Gilgit. The injured have been shifted to the hospital, and emergency has been imposed in Gilgit’s hospitals.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the Gilgit landslide tragedy. In a statement, he extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased volunteers and paid tribute to those who rendered their lives for the sake of humanity. The President also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured volunteers.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the landslide incident in Gilgit. The Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and directed that the injured be provided with immediate medical assistance. He paid tributes to the volunteers who rendered their lives for humanity.
