Ankara: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara organized an event to mark Kashmir Black Day, commemorating 78 years since India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Radio Pakistan, former Turkish Minister of Agriculture Mehmet Mehdi Eker spoke at the event, emphasizing that the struggle of the Kashmiri people is a fight for justice and truth that cannot be suppressed. He expressed hope that the people of Kashmir would soon realize their right to self-determination.
Saadet Party MP Mahmut Arikan highlighted that the Kashmir issue transcends politics and is fundamentally about justice, humanity, and dignity. He stressed the importance of greater Muslim unity, comparing the struggles of Kashmir and Gaza, and urged the UN and OIC to take concrete actions to end human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye Dr Yousaf Junaid expressed gratitude to Turkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for their principled stance and for consistently raising the Kashmir issue at international platforms, including the UN General Assembly.
