Karachi: Chairman of Engro, Hussain Dawood, emphasized the enduring partnership between China and Pakistan during a dialogue with Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the World Economic Forum’s 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions.
Mr. Dawood highlighted the long-standing friendship, recalling his participation in a 2013 delegation to China led by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, which initiated the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This initiative has attracted $62 billion in investments, enhancing connectivity between Kashgar in China and Gwadar in Pakistan through energy and infrastructure projects.
He noted Engro’s role in CPEC projects, collaborating with Chinese partners like China Machinery Engineering Corporation. Mr. Dawood stressed that these partnerships are grounded in mutual trust and a commitment to long-term planning.
