Rawalpindi: Funeral prayer of Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq and Major Tayyab Rahat who had embraced martyrdom in Orakzai during an intelligence-based operation against Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij, was offered at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi. They were among the eleven brave sons of soil who embraced martyrdom during the operation.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers, military and civil officers, and general public attended the funeral prayers. The Prime Minister, while paying tribute to the Shuhadas of Orakzai incident, said the whole nation stands resolute and firm against the menace of terrorism.
He further stated that the Shahadas’ sacrifice is a reminder of the unwavering resolve of the nation to defend the motherland at all costs. The martyrs will be laid to rest in their native towns with full military honours.
