EXIM Banks of Pakistan and Türkiye Sign M.o.U. to Strengthen Export Ties

Islamabad: An agreement aimed at enhancing export cooperation was signed between the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (EXIM Bank) and Türk Eximbank during the official visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an of Türkiye to Pakistan. This accord is part of the broader discussions at the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council’s Joint Working Group on Banking and Finance.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the memorandum of understanding (M.o.U.) seeks to foster collaboration between the two export credit agencies on areas of mutual interest. These include project cooperation in third countries through joint ventures, joint research initiatives, and knowledge exchange.

The agreement was exchanged between Mr. Ça?atay Özden, representing Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, and Mr. Abdul Hafeez, the acting CEO and President of EXIM Bank of Pakistan. Mr. Özden expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to enhance trade and investment opportunities.

Mr. Abdul Hafeez noted the significance of the collaboration, stating it aligns with EXIM Bank of Pakistan’s efforts to diversify exports by leveraging the knowledge and technical expertise of Türk Eximbank. He also emphasized the importance of President Erdo?an’s visit in reinforcing the strong ties between the two nations.
