Farooq Abdullah Highlights Decade of Hardship in IIOJK Under Modi Government

Srinagar: Farooq Abdullah, President of the National Conference, has openly criticized the Modi government’s administration in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), describing the past decade as a period of severe suffering and hardship for its people. Speaking at a one-day delegates convention of the National Conference in Doda, Abdullah addressed a host of issues impacting the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the former Chief Minister of IIOJK emphasized the need for unity and resilience among the local population and party functionaries to overcome the adverse policies imposed by the current government. He accused the Modi administration of employing divisive and destructive strategies, including the arbitrary redrawing of assembly and parliamentary boundaries, to split the community along religious and regional lines.

Farooq Abdullah detailed the significant economic, social, and psychological impacts on the residents, particularly the youth, exacerbated by the controversial revocation of Article 370 and 35A in August 2019. He called for concerted efforts to mitigate these effects, urging party members and citizens alike to fulfill their responsibilities towards restoring the region’s autonomy and dignity.
