Federal Government Ensures Completion of Islamabad IT Park by February 2025, Minister Ahsan Confirms

Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, affirmed the government’s dedication to completing the Islamabad IT Park by February 2025, following the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The announcement came during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan, Park Ki Jun. Minister Iqbal also revealed that the Karachi IT Park is set to be inaugurated next month, marking a significant step in bolstering Pakistan’s IT sector and digital economy.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ahsan Iqbal expressed Pakistan’s strong commitment to enhancing ties with the Republic of Korea, focusing particularly on the fields of information technology and telecommunications. During the discussions, Ambassador Park Ki Jun confirmed Korea’s eagerness to deepen its partnership with Pakistan in the IT and telecommunications sectors. He reiterated Korea’s commitment to assisting Pakistan in its IT development initiatives and ensuring the timely completion of the Islamabad IT Park project.

The Islamabad IT Park, once fully operational, is anticipated to deliver substantial economic benefits, including an increase in IT exports. The project is also projected to generate more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs during and after its completion. These developments highlight the ongoing efforts and international cooperation aimed at advancing Pakistan’s IT infrastructure and economic growth.
