Federal, Provincial Govts take steps to address water shortage issue in Balochistan

The federal and provincial governments have taken serious steps to address the issue of water shortage in Balochistan province.

A plan was launched in 2009 to build one hundred dams in the province. Out of these, sixty-four dams have so far been completed while 36 are under construction.

These dams will help develop the agriculture sector as well as serve the purpose of protecting the cultivated land and population from frequent floods besides recharging the ground water.
