Finance Minister chairs meeting of Finance and Technical Committee of Punjab Hospital Trust

Islamabad, July 25, 2015 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Ishaq Dar, chaired a meeting of the Finance and Technical Committee of Punjab Hospital Trust here today. The minister was briefed about the progress of the Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital, Swat.

The minister expressed satisfaction on the installation and provision of necessary equipment/machinery including generators, air conditioners and ambulances at the hospital. He was also informed about delivery of medicines to the hospital. The Minister was apprised that there were some hiccups regarding the training of the paramedical staff. Minister Dar stated that these should be resolved soon so that the hospital could be functional as soon as possible and maximum number of patients could benefit from it.

The Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital, Swat it may be added is a donation based project and it will function under the Punjab Hospitals Trust, which will bear its expenditure for two years. Constructed at a total cost of Rs. 800 million, it has a 120 beds capacity. As there is no kidney dialysis or treatment centre in the Swat area, this hospital will greatly benefit the people in future.
