Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has publicly expressed his deep concerns over the severe flood situation caused by incessant rains in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The weather calamity has led to significant loss of life and property, including the tragic deaths of five tourists and numerous missing individuals. According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz highlighted the extensive damage across the region, noting the flooding of villages in northern Kashmir, displacement of thousands of residents, and substantial damage to fruit crops in southern Kashmir. The Chenab area was also severely affected. In response to the crisis, Mirwaiz called for community solidarity, urging affluent members of the society to assist in the rehabilitation efforts and extend their support to those devastated by the floods. the importance of unity in facing the challenges brought by the natural disaster.
