Fiza Gilani strives for laws and policies compatible to gender equality

Islamabad: Syeda Fiza Batool Gilani, Goodwill Ambassador for Women Empowerment, has assured that she would strive for formulating laws and policies compatible to gender equality in the country.

Syeda Fiza Batool Gilani said this during a presentation given to her by Alice Shackleford, UN WOMEN, at their office here today.

The Goodwill Ambassador was apprised about the vision of UN Women and the strategy as how to make societies free of gender based discriminations, equal opportunities for men and women and comprehensive economic and social development for women.

Begum Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Social Sector said that gender equality was the priority of the present democratic Government aimed at mainstreaming the women in the process of nation building.
