FO Terms Social Media Post by British SRA as One-Sided

Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi has termed a social media post by the British Special Representative for Afghanistan (SRA) regarding developments along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as one-sided remarks. In response to media queries, Andrabi emphasized that such unwarranted remarks do not offer a balanced and objective perspective.

According to Radio Pakistan, the spokesperson urged a better understanding of regional dynamics, highlighting Pakistan’s principled stance and the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the Pakistani people in the fight against terrorism. Andrabi pointed out that cross-border aggression and terrorist infiltration attempts from the Afghan side have continued unabated, despite Pakistan’s goodwill gesture of a temporary pause announced in March.

The spokesperson further stated that since the pause, indiscriminate and unprovoked cross-border attacks by the Afghan Taliban and terrorist activities by Afghan-Taliban supported Indian proxies inside Pakistan have resulted in the deaths of fifty-two civilians and eighty-four injuries. Andrabi noted that Pakistan, while exercising restraint, has responded effectively by precisely targeting Afghan Taliban posts and terrorist support infrastructure, while also thwarting multiple infiltration attempts from the Afghan side.
